DUARTE BENAVENTE made his F1H2O racing debut in 1999 and is the most experienced of all the stars on the tour with 172 Grand Prix under his belt since his first appearance in Portimão, Portugal.

The Portuguese’s first podium came in 2002 with third place in Stralsund in Germany and he earned his best ever finish later that year when he finished second in Sardinia. Overall, he has six career podiums: his last was in Portimão in 2017.

The Vila Fresca de Azeitão racer started out back in 1991 in the Portuguese F4 Championship and competed in that division for 10 years, taking eight titles in Portugal (1991-1998), the Iberian F4 title (1995 to 1997), while winning both European and World titles as well. In 2016, he was one of only two drivers to finish in the points in all races, rounding out the season in 10th overall. He was also the UIM F4 World Champion in 2001.
