Wednesday, August 26: The final preparations for the next UIM F1H2O World Championship race are underway, with the Advance Program for the upcoming Grand Prix of Shanghai-China now published.

As with last year, H2O Racing is partnering with the Shanghai Baoshan District People’s Government to deliver the Grand Prix in the north of Shanghai, in the waterfront Baoshan district, in the same waters where last year Jonas Andersson triumphed to claim his only Grand Prix win of the season.

The paddock is already being prepared ahead of its official opening on Saturday, October 3, whereupon driver registration and technical scrutineering will take place. Racing starts the following day — Sunday, October 4 — in a packed schedule of racing action. The two Free Practice Sessions take place at 8am and then 9.30am local time, followed by Qualifications at 12.15pm.

The first points of the Grand Prix of Shanghai-China will be fought for on Sunday afternoon, with the weekend’s two Sprint Races taking place at 3.35pm and 4.20pm respectively. Winners of those races will then head to the podium for the awarding ceremony at 4.45pm.

The Grand Prix of Shanghai-China takes place on Monday, October 5, following a warm up session from 10am that morning. After the parade lap, the Grand Prix will have its roaring start at 3.05pm. Straight after the race’s end, the winner of the third round of the 2026 F1H2O World Championship and the sport’s racing return to China will be crowned in the awarding ceremony that brings a close to the weekend’s Grand Prix.
